What to include
The more you tell us, the quicker we can help. Please include:
- your name and your stable's name;
- your phone or tablet model and its software version, for example “iPhone 13, iOS 18” or “Samsung Galaxy, Android 14”;
- what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead;
- roughly when it happened, and whether you had signal at the time;
- any message the app showed, including the code on the Needs attention screen; and
- a screenshot, if it helps.
Never send us your password. We'll never ask for it. Please leave out other people's personal details and any health information we don't need to see.
Support during the pilot
Before ThoroughTrack goes into the app stores, a small number of yards will use it in an invitation-only pilot. During the pilot:
- support is by email;
- we reply as quickly as we can, but we don't offer a guaranteed response time;
- we help pilot stables get set up, including bringing in existing records from spreadsheets (CSV) using a secure, encrypted process;
- the app is still being built, so you may meet missing features or bugs. Please tell us: pilot feedback shapes what we build next.
Common questions
Can I download ThoroughTrack yet?
Not yet. ThoroughTrack is pre-release and isn't in the App Store or Google Play. Before it is, a small number of yards will use it in an invitation-only pilot. Find out about the pilot.
Which devices will it run on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 16.4 or later, and Android phones and tablets with Android 8.0 or later. The app is in English.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. Records are saved on your phone first, in an encrypted database, so you can log exercise and health checks at the gallops with no signal. They sync automatically when you're back online, and horses and records you've already synced stay viewable offline.
For security, if the app hasn't been able to check in with our servers for 30 days, it locks the stable's data until you reconnect.
What do the sync messages mean?
The top of each stable's home screen shows whether you're Connected or Offline, and:
- uploading… while changes saved on your phone are being sent;
- first sync pending while your phone finishes its first download of the stable's records. Stay connected for a moment.
If a change can't be sent because of a temporary problem, such as weak signal or a busy server, it waits safely on your phone and the app retries automatically.
If the server rejects a record, for example because something in it isn't valid, you'll see a Needs attention banner. Those records aren't retried. The data you entered is kept so you can copy it, enter it again correctly and then dismiss the rejected copy. Nothing is quietly dropped.
What happens if I sign out before everything has synced?
Signing out wipes the stable's data from that device. If any changes haven't been uploaded, or anything needs attention, the app tells you how many and asks you to confirm first. It's best to reconnect and let sync finish before signing out.
How do I switch between stables?
If you work with more than one stable, tap Switch stable on the stable's home screen and pick another. In each stable you only see the horses you've been given access to.
What can each role do?
- Stable Admin: runs the stable, including who has access to which horses and the stable's settings.
- Trainer: all horses and their records. Reports are planned for launch.
- Yard Manager: all horses and their daily records.
- Staff: the horses assigned to them. They can add records.
Correcting records, by yard managers or by staff for their own entries, is planned for launch. Read-only access for owners is planned. Vets and farriers aren't supported yet.
How do I invite my team?
Joining is by invitation only. The Stable Admin chooses each person's role and which horses they can see. Sending invitations from inside the app is still being built, so during the pilot, email hello@thoroughtrack.ie and we'll help you set up your team.
Can I use furlongs, pounds or Fahrenheit?
Health checks already accept kg or lb and °C or °F. Choosing furlongs or metres, and miles or kilometres, for distances is planned.
When will GPS gallop tracking be available?
GPS route recording isn't built yet. It's being finished for the pilot, before pilot yards start. Recording will only ever be started by the rider, and will be clearly shown in the app while it runs, with a notification on Android. Read how location data will work.
Can owners see their horses?
Not yet. Owner reports and read-only owner access are planned for launch. Owners will only see their own horses and the reports you choose to publish to them.
Is there a web version?
No. ThoroughTrack is an app for iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets.
