Feature tour
ThoroughTrack is pre-release. So, like the going on a race card, every feature on this page tells you where it stands: built (but not yet released), coming for the pilot, or planned for launch.
Horses & stables
Profiles hold breeding, yard, status and notes, so the whole team works from the same record. Work across more than one stable? Switch between them without signing out, and only see the horses you’re meant to.
Breeding, yard, status and notes for every horse, all in one place. Mark each one in training, resting, injured, spelling, retired or archived.
Move between the stables you work with, and only ever see the horses you’re allowed to see.
Keep photos with the horse’s record, not lost in someone’s camera roll. The first release supports photos of horses only.
We help pilot yards bring existing records across from CSV, using a secure, encrypted process. It’s a hands-on service, not a self-service button.
Training records
Today’s build records exercise by hand: pick the type, add the time and distance, the surface and going, and whether the horse ate up. It’s saved on the phone straight away.
Walk, trot, canter, gallop, swim, treadmill, lunge, hack or schooling, with duration, distance, surface, going, whether the horse ate up, and notes. Entered by hand in a few taps.
Break a session into its pieces, so the work up the hill isn’t lumped in with the walk home.
Set out each horse’s work for the day in one table: rider, walk or trot, canter and gallop distances, walker, equipment, location and notes. Pick any of the next seven days, then send the plan so each staff member is notified.
Furlongs or metres, miles or kilometres, °C or °F, kg or lb. Health checks already take kg or lb and °C or °F.
One timeline of training and health records for each horse, with a calendar view. Corrections keep a visible revision history instead of overwriting the original.
Training records · Exercise plan
The exercise plan is planned for launch, so it isn’t built yet. The trainer fills in a table for each horse, picks the day from the next seven, and sends the plan. Each staff member is then notified of their instructions for the day.

GPS gallop tracking
The rider starts a recording, puts the phone in a pocket and rides. ThoroughTrack works out the route, distance, pace and fastest furlong. GPS isn’t built yet: it’s coming for the pilot, as part of the pilot-ready build.
Record the route, distance, pace and fastest furlong with the phone in your pocket, and keep recording when the screen locks.
Review each route on a map. Routes stay viewable offline on a plain route view, and satellite imagery loads when you’re connected.
Location is recorded only while a rider has a recording running that they started themselves, and never at any other time. The recording is clearly shown in the app while it runs, with a notification on Android, and there’s no live tracking of riders.
Workload is shown as plain distance and time totals, never a hidden score.
GPS is optional. A rider who’d rather not use it can still log the work by hand, or record with the app open on screen. How location data will work
Health & wellbeing
Quick checks take a few taps, so they get done at the box door rather than written up later. Corrections are planned to keep a visible history, and alerts only ever use the ranges your yard sets.
Temperature, weight, feed eaten (night before or after work), heart rate, respiratory rate and general notes, logged between lots.
Record farrier visits, medication and vaccinations, with due dates.
A flag when a temperature falls outside the range your stable sets, or when a horse leaves more of its feed than usual. No medical thresholds come built in: your yard decides the ranges.
See which horses are current, due soon, due today, overdue or missing their equine influenza vaccination, with reminders.

Plain-English questions
No menus to learn. Type the question and ThoroughTrack’s question matcher, a set of rules rather than an AI model, works out which report you mean. If it doesn’t know the question, it says so.
Type a question such as “Who is due a flu vaccine?” and a rule-based matcher works out which report you mean. No AI model, and it works offline.
If it doesn’t recognise a question, it shows the questions it does understand rather than making up an answer.
Temperature, food-intake drops, vaccination status, weekly and monthly summaries, and the comparisons below.
Questions it recognises include
Analytics
Comparisons built from your own records: across horses, across seasons, across weeks and across a sire’s progeny. All planned for launch, after the pilot-ready build.
Compare work across several horses side by side.
Is this horse ahead of or behind where it was at the same stage last year?
See how the work schedule changed between two weeks, say week 1 and week 6.
Look for patterns across horses by the same sire. It needs at least three horses and three sessions per group, so it won’t read much into too little.
Reports & owners
Reports draw on what the yard has already logged, carry your stable’s name and logo, and go to owners the way they like to get them. All planned for launch, after the pilot-ready build.
A training summary, health notes, key gallops, photos and a comment from the trainer.
Temperature flags, food-intake drops and flu-vaccine status across the yard. For internal use only.
Your stable’s name and logo on every report.
Send through WhatsApp, email or the phone’s share sheet, or create a private link that expires after 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days and can be revoked at any time.
Owners see only their own horses and the reports you choose to publish to them.
Health alerts, vaccination reminders, invitations and report notices, with quiet hours from 20:00 to 07:00 by default.
Offline & sync
Everything is saved on the phone first, then uploads once you’re back in range. Offline sync is in the build today; walking it through on real devices comes before pilot yards rely on it.
Exercise and health checks are saved on the phone first and upload automatically when you’re back online.
If a record can’t sync, it’s kept on the phone and listed under “Needs attention” so someone can look at it, rather than vanishing.
Stable data stored on the phone is encrypted and left out of Android device backups. Signing out wipes it.
What you’ll see
Phone, tablet & iPad
ThoroughTrack is phone-first: short forms and big targets for the yard. Roomier tablet and iPad layouts for the office are planned.
Short forms and big targets for one-handed use in the yard, on iPhone (iOS 16.4 or later) and Android (8.0 or later).
Roomier layouts for the office, where you’re comparing horses rather than holding a lead rope.
Team, roles & access
Everyone in the yard gets a role, and the role decides what they can see and change. Staff only see the horses assigned to them, and owners will only ever see their own.
Invite your team, give each person a role and choose exactly which horses they can see. The server side is built; the screens are next.
Unlock with Face ID, a fingerprint or the device passcode. The app locks again after 15 minutes of inactivity.
| Role | Sees and does |
|---|---|
| Stable Admin | Runs the stable: who has access to which horses. Branding, alert ranges and the GPS policy for riders arrive with those features. |
| Trainer | Every horse. Manages horses and their records; reports and sharing with owners are planned for launch. |
| Yard Manager | Every horse. Keeps the daily records (correcting them is planned for launch); internal reports are planned for launch. |
| Staff | Only the horses assigned to them. Adds records; correcting their own is planned for launch. |
| Owner Planned for launch | Read-only: their own horses and the reports published to them. |
| Vet or farrier Not yet | No access in the first release. Your own team will record farrier visits and vaccinations. |

“Built, pre-release” means in the development build, not released. ThoroughTrack isn’t in any app store yet and there’s no public beta.
Invitation-only pilot
We’re inviting a small number of racing yards in Ireland and the UK to use ThoroughTrack in real morning work before it reaches the app stores.
